Are your tired of looking at your old cheap looking vinyl liner in-ground pool? There are a lot of things that you can do to your existing vinyl liner pool. Let’s start with the least expensive answer to that question. There are many ways that you can update the look. One of the most common problems are the white steps in the pool. After many years they are usually cracked and stained. You can remove these and have steps installed to the interior of the pool and then the liner will cover these new steps making them look seamless. Another great way to update the look of your pool is to cover the old white coping. There are a lot of paver manufactures that make renovation coping that can be installed right over top of the coping. You can also add real waterline tile to the interiorof your pool. Last but not least you can just change out the liner to give you another 10 to 15 years.
If just want to change your pool completely you have a couple of other options. It is very easy to change your existing pool into a Concrete/Gunite Pool. With this option you can shallow or deepen the pool. From there you can retain the shape that you currently have using the existing walls to shoot up against. This will also give you an opportunity to add some great features that are usually not found on typical vinyl liner pools, such as tanning ledges with unbrella stands, beach entry’s,
, benches and seats, raised water features and so on. You can also choose to remove part or all of your existing pool and then construct the Concrete/Gunite Pool of your dreams!
If Concrete is not your wish you can always install a Fiberglass Pool. This pool requires the least amount of maintenance. You can install a smaller pool and not have the cost of removing the old walls, or you can pull out the old pool and install the new Fiberglass Pool that you have always wanted. There are quite a few shapes and sizes available. There are also quite a few different interior finishes and colors, besides just white or pool blue.
While you are thinking about changing and updating your pool you may want to consider all of the newer technology that should also be addressed at this time. Most pools that are older usually have under sized plumbing. This is a great time to install the proper size plumbing that will allow your pool to operate more efficiently and easier to keep clean. From there we move onto Pumps. You will need to make sure that your pump is properly sized. Most older pumps waste a ton of energy. There are also variable speed pumps that require very little energy to operate your pool properly. You may also want to change your Filter to make sure that your water in your pool stays clean. Salt Water Pools are the latest thing in keeping your clean and easy to maintain.
Whatever you choose to do, it always best to consult with a Licensed Swimming Pool Contractor to go over all of your options.
