2011 was a very interesting year! This year we saw once again the types of construction jobs change from the previous year. We started the year with an amazing Vinyl Liner Pool Renovation, where we took an existing pool, removed the white step and added a tanning ledge, benches and steps.  We had the Vinyl Liner custom made to go over the steps, benches, and ledge. From there we added an amazing Outdoor Living Area with Silver Travertine Pavers, Wood Burning Fireplace, Custom Built Pergola, Bahama Shutters and More. The next project was in Beaufort where we built a 20' X 40' Concrete Pool with an elevated brick wall and seashell pavers.  Our next project was an amazing transformation of the complete backyard with a Concrete Pool including the following features- Infinity Edge, Grotto with water fall, Tanning Ledge, Antique Gold Travertine Pavers, Fire Bowls, Fire Pit, Stone Retaining walls and so on. 2011 was an amazing year for Luxury and High End Projects.

We had our most demanding Commercial Swimming Pool Renovation.  This was a very large swimming pool in Dover NC.  This pool had been leaking for several years and it was time to repair it.  It was so bad that when we got called in the water was shooting out of the concrete.  Once we started to remove the concrete decking we found that the plumbing was done incorrectly and the leak was so bad that quite a bit of water had washed out the soil and the pipes were coming apart everywhere.  We had to remove all of the concrete decking and replace all of the plumbing. This meant that it had to be engineered and brought up to todays codes. This all had to be done in the heat of our season and we only had four weeks to complete. The good news is that it was done on schedule and the Camp was ready for the children as promised.  Since this project we have decided to invest heavily in our leak detection skills and equipment.

Another interesting project was a pool built several years ago with a spa and infinity edge. This pool was built incorrectly and never really worked quite right, even though it was a beautiful looking pool.  We were called in after several other companies could not solve their problems, including the company that build the pool.  Our solution was to remove the current and inefficient pumps then install the following- Swimming Pool Automation this system enabled the homeowner to have the pool, spa and water features controlled automatically and with a remote control when needed.  We then installed two Variable Speed Pumps, these replaced three very noisy and inefficient pumps. From there we had to replumb the whole system and add valves with acuators. Last but not least we added Salt Water Systems to enable easy to manage spa and pool water. I am happy to report that this customer is quite happy with this transformation. They visit our store regularly to have their water checked.

Looking forward to 2012La-z-boy Spas

There are many changes for the new year.  We are in the process of remodeling the showroom, with such new features as a Wet-Test Room for Spas and Hot Tubs.  Our customers will be able to Test Drive their new spa in privacy during store hours. This will be the only Wet Test Room in Eastern North Carolina.  We are also changing the look to our store with a relaxing and inviting spa area and new travertine countertops. Another great change to look forward to is our new line of Spas!  We are now an Authorized Dealer for LA-Z-BOY Spas, the comfort and durability that you have come to know with their furniture is now available in a home Spa. We are in the process of adding Decoartive Concrete along the side of our building. This will allow our customers for new and exisitng pools, to have beautiful pool decking.
